Karl Burke had a weekend to remember, adding to his Leopardstown double with victory in the valuable sales race on Sunday at the Curragh, while Eve Johnson Houghton ensured further success for the British raiders by taking the Group 1 honours.

Burke saddled Alparslan in the Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sales Stakes and Clifford Lee’s mount eased clear late on to beat Magny Cours, with the gambled-on Blingy’s Sister running a remarkable race to finish third, given she had no luck in running and had to switch very well to make late progress.
