Alex Harvey, who finished fourth in the conditional jockeys’ championship in 2024, has maintained his fine form well into the new season, and he struck early at the August meeting in Killarney, taking the first two races.

The feature on the card was the GMIB Handicap Hurdle, worth €26,500 to the winner, and Harvey teamed up with Charles Byrnes to land the spoils with Spy. An 11-race maiden over timber prior to this race, he moved well throughout and ultimately won comfortably from Galway winner Come On The Lads.
