Genuine Article worth waiting for in Curragh finale
SMART PROSPECT: An impressive winner of a Group 2 at Newmarket last month, Whistlejacket can make his Group 1 breakthrough at the Curragh on Saturday. Picture: Healy Racing
Two meetings on Saturday, the early fare in the Curragh where Genuine Article can wrap up the afternoon action by taking the La Celia Wines Handicap.
The four-year-old, who is trained by Gerry Keane, stepped up on his two previous efforts for the yard when third in a handicap at Leopardstown. On the back of that, he was heavily backed to win a competitive handicap at last week’s Galway festival but came up half a length shy of Grey Leader.
