The O’Brien family dominated day one of the July festival in Killarney, and it began with Joseph O’Brien taking the first two races courtesy of a couple of serious prospects.

The opening race was the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden and despite this being a hot-looking race, the market spoke strongly for Apples And Bananas. On debut, he finished sixth behind Hazdann, and that form received a nice boost when the horse who finished a place in front of him, Black Forza, won his maiden next time out.
