Reverend Hubert, ridden for Charles Byrnes by Shane Fitzgerald, bagged the three-mile Jim Ryan Memorial Novice Chase in gutsy style in Punchestown.

In a race run at a muddling pace, six of the seven runners were in contention turning for home. And it was recent Limerick scorer Reverend Hubert who produced a telling turn of foot between the last two fences before seeing off Solitary Man and front-running favourite Easy Fella.
