Wayne Lordan, fresh from his fine third aboard Los Angeles in the Epsom Derby, took the feature race on Sunday’s card in Listowel, the Pat Smullen Race, aboard the Aidan O’Brien-trained The Liffey.

Winner of his only start at two but quite well beaten in a Group 3 on his comeback, he was trying a mile for the first time, but it proved no hindrance to success as he ran out a convincing winner.
