The smile on Jack Kennedy’s face as crossed the line clear of the field aboard Teahupoo in the Grade One Ladbrokes Champion Stayers Hurdle told the story.

To this point, it had been a frustrating meeting for the rider but this victory, worth celebrating in isolation, had a greater significance as it put the Dingle native on the 123 mark for the season, six clear of Paul Townend in the jockeys’ championship with just two and a half days remaining.
