Paisley is finally parked

One of the more enjoyable stories of recent years ended yesterday when Paisley Park was retired following the 12-year old’s 10th lacklustre run when finishing 10th in the Stayers Hurdle, a race he won in 2019 and has contested every year since. Paisley has been a feature of all the Grade One long distance hurdle races over the last six years, winning 11 races from 31 starts and collecting almost a million euro for his owner, Andrew Gemmell.
