 One can only marvel at how Henry de Bromhead, publicly at least, has carried himself since the tragic loss of his young son. It allows him to appreciate the good days like Honeysuckle at last year's Festival. Now he's hoping for a new generation of stable stars, writes Darren Norris

For all the brilliance of Constitution Hill and Galopin Des Champs, no moment from last year’s Cheltenham Festival came close to matching the raw emotion that enveloped Honeysuckle’s fairytale swansong in the Mares’ Hurdle.

There were copious reasons her success tugged powerfully at the heartstrings, the main one being the tragedy the De Bromhead family had to shoulder from the previous September when their 13-year-old Jack died in a pony racing accident at Rossbeigh.
