Willie Mullins, who drew a blank with more high-profile runners at both Leopardstown and Kempton, salvaged his only St Stephen’s Day winners in Limerick, where he shared a double with Seán O’Keeffe, highlighted by the gutsy victory of 9-4 favourite Loughglynn in the Grade Two Lyons Of Limerick Jaguar Land Rover Novice Hurdle.
Unplaced in the Cheltenham Bumper last March and a wide-margin winner on his hurdling bow at Punchestown, Loughglynn got to grips with the Gordon Elliott-trained pair Stellar Story and Search For Glory from the second, ultimately beating the former by a length.
