Folkestone gets thumbs up

This afternoon’s meeting at Folkestone goes ahead after the track passed a morning precautionary inspection.

Clerk of the course Neil MacKenzie Ross assessed conditions at 7.15am but decided a further check was necessary as more rain was forecast.

However, that inspection showed the track to be raceable, with the ground described as soft, heavy in places.

MacKenzie Ross said: “I’m happy to call racing on but obviously we will still be maintaining a watching brief on the weather.

“It is raceable at the moment and I think it will take a torrential downpour to stop us now.”
