Killarney meet gets go-ahead

Today's meeting at Killarney has been given the green light after Irish Turf Club officials inspected the course.

Wednesday's meeting at the County Kerry track had to be abandoned due to waterlogging, but there has been sufficient improvement for day two of their four-day meeting to go ahead.

Officials were due to check on conditions at 8am, but have been able to make a decision earlier than anticipated.

Turf Club press officer Cliff Noone said: "Today's meeting goes ahead. They had a dry night and it's generally meant to be dry for the next couple of days.

"The ground is heavy, soft to heavy in places."
