Catterick fit for racing

This afternoon’s meeting at Catterick has passed an early-morning precautionary inspection.

Five millimetres of overnight rain failed to dampen the spirits of course officials who were satisfied the track was fit for racing.

Clerk of the course Fiona Needham said: “There are more showers forecast later on, but racing goes ahead.”

The going is soft, with the six-race card due to commence at 2.10pm.
