Leopardstown passes inspection

This evening's meeting at Leopardstown is set to go ahead as scheduled following a precautionary inspection at 1pm.

The Foxrock venue has been hit by heavy rain during the past 24 hours, prompting Irish Turf Club officials to check on conditions.

But with the course still raceable and the rain due to clear, they were happy to give the meeting the green light.

Turf Club press officer Cliff Noone said: "The meeting goes ahead, but they've changed the ground to heavy.

"They had quite a bit of rain this morning and it is still drizzling away now, but it is due to clear later on so they are good to race."
