Jockey Michael Hills has paid tribute to the Newmarket team responsible for treating the ill-fated Gray Pearl.

The filly, trained by Hills’ brother Charlie, was put down after suffering an “apparent spinal chord injury” in an incident before the Qipco 1000 Guineas yesterday.
