Snow threat to Kempton card
Officials at Kempton have announced a precautionary inspection for 8am ahead of Sunday’s all-weather meeting due to the threat of overnight snow.
Although the widespread frost that has hit the country over the past 48 hours is not putting the fixture in any danger, clerk of the course Barney Clifford is concerned about the amount of snow that is forecast on Saturday night.
Clifford said: “We think it’s prudent to take a look at 8am as we are forecast some heavy snow.
“The forecast says we could get anything up to 12 centimetres, which is quite a lot.
“The timescale is for it to come between 7pm and the early morning, so we’ll see what happens.”
