This afternoon's meeting at Folkestone will go ahead after the course passed a fourth inspection at 12.30pm.

Initially clerk of the course Neil Mackenzie Ross and his team looked at 7.15am but the course was frozen.

Further checks were made at 10am and 11am with progress being made each time but it was not until 12.30pm the green light was finally given.

"We're on, it's thawed enough," said Mackenzie Ross.

"We are bypassing the hurdle in the back straight and the hurdlers will run down the chase course round the bend.

"This will not affect distances though."
