Navan passes morning inspection

This afternoon's meeting at Navan will go ahead as planned although there is a further inspection at 10am for the chase course.

There are no problems on the hurdle track so the feature events, the Navan Novice Hurdle and the Grade Two Tara Hurdle, are under no threat whatsoever.

However, there are still patches of the chase track that are giving ground staff cause for concern.

Irish Turf Club press officer Cliff Noone said: "The meeting is on although they are looking again at the chase track at 10am.

"They put the chases to the back of the card to give it every chance as that course had been raced on.

"They are optimistic of racing as temperatures are due to rise."

However, following the 10am inspection there were still parts of the chase course that were unfit for racing and third check will take place at 12 noon.

The first race will start at 12.35pm.
