Christmas mission for Court
Martin Keighley is preparing his smart novice Champion Court for the Feltham Chase at Kempton on December 26.
The six-year-old has created a favourable impression over the bigger obstacles after an inauspicious start when he unseated his rider at Perth in September.
He went on to record a good win at Aintree where he accounted for Saint Are, followed by taking second place behind the highly-rated Grands Crus at Cheltenham.
Keighley now has no qualms about running Champion Court in the Grade One over three miles in what is sure to be a highly-competitive contest.
“He’s doing well, and we’re getting him ready for the big race at Kempton on Boxing Day,” said the Condicote trainer.
