Holland poised for Friday return

Darryll Holland plans to be in the saddle on Friday after taking a couple of days off due to a neck complaint.

The jockey suffered the injury when just beaten on the Barry Hills-trained two-year-old newcomer Llanarmon Lad at Goodwood on Tuesday.

He has been receiving treatment, and expects to fulfil his bookings at Newmarket’s evening meeting on Friday.

“He pulled a muscle in his neck at Goodwood on Tuesday so he wasn’t able to ride on Wednesday,” said his agent Gareth Owen.

“He lost some sense in his left arm so he’s had some treatment and he will be fine for tomorrow.

“He was advised just to give it another day of rest. He’ll be riding at Newmarket tomorrow evening and at Doncaster on Saturday.”
