Crowley targets Sunday return

Jockey Jim Crowley will not be in action on Saturday after being kicked by a horse in the parade ring at Sandown on Thursday.

Crowley received a blow to a thigh from Morning Muse in the preliminaries before the British Stallion Studs EBF Lubricators Maiden Stakes.

The jockey had intended to return on Saturday, when he had eight rides at Salisbury and Newmarket, but will now make a quieter comeback at Ascot on Sunday.

"I just wanted to give it another day," said Crowley.

"The thigh is fine, and is healing well, but eight rides is probably too many in a day, especially with Goodwood round the corner.

"I've got two rides at Ascot on Sunday, so I'll be looking to come back then."
