Alain de Royer-Dupre has a choice between the Prix Foy and the Prix Vermeille for Sarafina as she continues to build towards another crack at the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.
The brilliant daughter of Refuse To Bend finished third behind Workforce in the Longchamp showpiece last season and this term looks better than ever.
Victories in the Prix Corrida and the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud have shown she will once again be one of the major players come Arc day.
But Royer-Dupre must firstly decide whether to take on the colts in the Prix Foy at Longchamp on September 11, or stick to her own sex in the Prix Vermeille on the same afternoon.
He said: “She’s great. We’ve reduced her to a walk at the moment and she looks very happy and, at this time, everything is under control.
“Next for her we have to make a choice, normally between the Prix Foy or the Prix Vermeille, to prepare her for the Arc.
“She looks more mature this season and is certainly easier to manage and ride.”
Sarafina is around a 7-1 chance, behind 4-1 favourite Pour Moi, for the Arc on the first Sunday in October.
