Green Destiny heading for Goodwood

Green Destiny will head to Glorious Goodwood in search of another big handicap success following his impressive win in the 52nd John Smith’s Cup at York.

Connections of the William Haggas-trained four-year-old are looking at the totesport Mile on July 29 after he easily disposed of a competitive field on the Knavesmire, bouncing back from a Royal Ascot disappointment.

“He was awesome and he demolished them,” said Tony Nerses, racing manager to owners Saleh Al Homaizi and Imad Al Sagar, and who bought the son of Marju as a foal.

“We put a line through Ascot. It was one of those things.

“It was a very competitive race. There’s only one more handicap to go now. I think we will aim him at the totesport Mile.

“I think he will be effective over a mile as he is over 10 furlongs. He’s got such a burst of speed.”
