Sweet Lightning set for Dubai
Lincoln hero Sweet Lightning is being prepared for a campaign in Dubai.
The Michael Dods-trained six-year-old ran a number of fine races at the Meydan Carnival earlier this year and returned to Britain in fantastic form, running away with the famous Doncaster handicap.
He has not been since that outing after suffering a minor injury and Tim Jones, racing manager for owner Andrew Tinkler, is looking forward to his return.
"He had a small setback after Doncaster and he just wasn't right for a few weeks," said Jones.
"He'd had a busy time last year and in Dubai earlier this year anyway, so we decided we'd give him a break and prepare him to go back to Dubai this winter.
"After his win in the Lincoln the handicapper put him up to 112 and it would be nice to think he could end up running on Dubai World Cup night in something like the Godolphin Mile.
"If there's an opportunity to run him in Britain before he departs he could do, but Dubai is the main plan for him."
