Zoffany handed Ballycorus mission

Zoffany will be aimed at the Ballycorus Stakes at Leopardstown after being forced to miss this weekend’s Abu Dhabi Irish 2000 Guineas.

The Dansili colt won five of his seven races last summer, losing only to Strong Suit in the Coventry Stakes and Pathfork in the National Stakes.

He had been due to reappear in the Classic on Saturday but a bout of colic ruled him out.

Trainer Aidan O’Brien’s wife Anne-Marie tweeted: “Zoffany is fully recovered this morning and will now be aimed at the Ballycorus Stakes at Leopardstown on May 29.”
