Longsdon hoping for Festival first

Charlie Longsdon is optimistic Paintball can hit the target in the Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham on Wednesday.

The Chipping Norton trainer believes the gelding, who opened his account over timber at Ludlow last month, could run a big race off his handy weight.

“Everyone is telling me Paintball is my best chance next week in the Fred Winter,” said Longsdon.

“The race has cut up a bit, but he gets in off a nice weight and Dickie (Richard Johnson) rides.

“He is unproven, but I’d say he’s got a solid chance.”

Paintball is as low as 8-1 in places.
