Harrington hoping for Roberto gold
Jessica Harrington is hoping Roberto Goldback’s big day is not too far away after another fine effort in defeat in last week’s Kinloch Brae Chase at Thurles.
Although winless this season, the nine-year-old has been placed on each of his three starts, all of which have come in Graded company.
The gelding is likely to be readied for a trip to Britain in the spring, with Harrington mulling whether to send her charge to Cheltenham or Aintree.
“He was very unlucky again the other day but he’s been running consistently all year and I can’t complain about him,” said Harrington.
“I think he just go a bit bored galloping along in front and just got caught close home, but there’s a good race in him somewhere.
“He’s in the Ryanair at Cheltenham, but I don’t know if he’ll go for that or not at the moment.
“I’ll have a discussion with the owner and we’ll decide whether we should go to Cheltenham or try him over three miles at Aintree instead.”
