Leicester gets green light

This afternoon’s National Hunt fixture at Leicester has passed a second inspection.

An initial 8am check proved inconclusive so clerk of the course Jimmy Stevenson decided to have another look before 11am.

After having walked the track with course inspectors and jockeys, the meeting was given the green light.

Stevenson said: “We’ve got good news. We’ve just been out on the track, there were course inspectors and some jockeys with me and we’ve passed the inspection.

“It’s about 1C at the moment and is due to rise to 2C.”
