Leicester for second check

This afternoon’s jumps fixture at Leicester must pass a second inspection at 11am.

With overnight temperatures having plummeted to minus 5C, the course has developed a light crust of frost in places.

Following an 8.30am inspection, clerk of the course Jimmy Stevenson reported: “It’s colder than expected – still below freezing – so we’ve just got to be patient.

“Temperatures this morning are due to get to around 3C, so we are still hopeful.”
