All systems go for Newbury tomorrow
Thaw has firmly set in at Newbury ahead of a major afternoon’s jumping action on Wednesday.
The track in Berkshire, England is one of the few to have managed to even race over the sticks in December and no inspection has been called ahead of the sportingbet Supports Heros Charity Challow Novices’ Hurdle fixture, at which the rearranged AP Wins Sports Personality Long Walk Hurdle is also held.
Clerk of the course Richard Osgood said: “The track is completely green and all the snow has melted.
“We’re raceable and the ground is currently good to soft. We had seven millimetres of rain last night, with the maximum temperature today being 5C and the minimum tonight being 4C.
“We may even get a maximum temperature tomorrow of 8C.”
