Catterick called off

Tuesday’s meeting at Catterick has been abandoned due to snow and frost.

Clerk of the course Fiona Needham called off the meeting after a 10.30am inspection showed the track to be unraceable.

“We had further snow overnight and there are a couple of inches on the track and it is frozen solid,” she said.

“It has been very cold for the last eight nights so we are frozen solid with no real prospect of improvement.

“Warmer air is forecast to come in on Tuesday but that will be too late for us, although we are a lot more hopeful for New Year’s Day.”
