Leopardstown’s meeting on Monday has been cancelled as the Dublin track is now covered in a foot of snow.

Officials had already postponed the opening day of the four-day Christmas Festival on Sunday and with conditions showing no sign of improvement, Monday’s fare has also fallen by the wayside.

Horse Racing Ireland officials have a contingency plan in place, with Monday’s Paddy Power Dial-A-Bet Chase and the paddypowerpoker.com Future Champions Novice Hurdle due to be rescheduled for Wednesday.

Racing is now set to take place from Tuesday until Thursday.

The Irish Turf Club will stage an inspection on Monday to reassess the situation regarding the remainder of the meeting
