Racing resumes at Catterick

This afternoon’s meeting at Catterick will go ahead as planned after a mild night in north Yorkshire.

Officials had called an 8am inspection in case of freezing conditions overnight but clerk of the course Fiona Needham was happy to give the meeting the green light just before 7am.

“It’s good news at last, I don’t think we’ve had any racing up here for two and a half weeks,” said Needham.

“It got down to about 0C at 5pm but cloud cover came in and we’ve also had some light drizzle so there are no problems.”
