Ladbroke plan for Bothy
Bothy is likely to bid for compensation in The Ladbroke at Ascot next month granted suitable conditions following his sterling effort at Cheltenham.
The four-year-old only went down by a neck to Champion Hurdle contender Menorah in the Greatwood on Sunday.
Trainer Brian Ellison would now love to run the Pivotal gelding in the £150,000 handicap hurdle at the Berkshire track on December 18 provided there is enough cut in the ground.
“Bothy’s fine, he’s been in the paddock having a day-off and is as good as gold. It was a great performance and we’re delighted,” said the North Yorkshire handler.
“It’s the Ladbroke next for him and Palomar. Bothy wants soft ground so if it’s fast at Ascot he won’t go but that’s the plan at the moment.”
