Midday set for high noon in Vermeille

Yorkshire Oaks heroine Midday is on course to bid for further Group One honours in the Prix Vermeille at Longchamp on Sunday week.

The four-year-old turned in an explosive performance on the Knavesmire, beating off the challenge of dual Oaks winner Snow Fairy as Sariska stood motionless in the stalls.

The latter could reoppose in what should be a fantastic race in France, and Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager to owner Midday’s owner Prince Khalid Abdullah, is delighted with the filly’s progress.

“Midday is fine. We have just been topping her up and she looks in great form,” said Grimthorpe.

“She is on course to go for the Prix Vermeille on Sunday week.”
