The idea was approved for this year’s Investec Derby following a detailed consultation process amongst a number of parties, including the British Horseracing Authority and the Professional Jockeys Association.

However, there were no disciplinary-rated incidents during the featured TV races over the two-day fixture.

Royal Ascot had been mooted as a possible venue for another trial but Racing For Change, the organisation behind the initiative, has decided a further discussion period is necessary.

It is now likely to be mid-July before another trial takes place.
