Bear on the prowl for Evans

David Evans unveiled a potentially smart juvenile when Bathwick Bear made a winning debut in the Trustmark Design And Print Maiden Stakes at Ffos Las.

The son of Kodiak led home a 1-2-4 for Evans, who also saddled runner-up Scarlet Rocks and fourth-placed Dingle View.

The trainer makes no secret of his high regard for the winner, who Jimmy Fortune brought home a length clear at the rewarding price of 9-1.
