A New Story ended Enda Bolger’s domination in the cross-country races at Cheltenham when coming home in front in the Glenfarclas Handicap Chase today.

Bolger had saddled the last three winners of this event and was again mob-handed with five chances, including the hot favourite Garde Champetre, who had won this race for the last two years.

However, a mistake at the Aintree fence effectively ended his chance and it was Michael Hourigan’s A New Story (25-1) who finished best up the hill to score under 7lb claimer Adrian Heskin.

Bolger’s L’Ami was second, with Lacdoudal and Another Jewel filling the places.

Garde Champetre got going late in the day but could only finish fifth after that error.
