Leicester check again

Leicester have announced a second inspection at 10am ahead of this afternoon’s National Hunt fixture.

Clerk of the course Jimmy Stevenson must check conditions again after overnight temperatures dipped to minus 9C.

Although temperatures are slowly rising, an initial inspection shortly before 8am proved inconclusive.

“We’re still very hopeful,” said Stevenson.

“There’s a good rise in temperatures forecast. The sun has only just come out and it’s getting warmer.”
