Catterick take a look

Catterick have called an 8am precautionary inspection ahead of tomorrow’s meeting due to the threat of frost.

Temperatures dipped to -3C last night in north Yorkshire and while the course is perfectly raceable today, the same is forecast again in Richmondshire.

Clerk of the course Fiona Needham is confident the fixture will be fine if the forecast temperature is reached again, but there could be an issue if it gets any lower.

“It was -3C last night and we would race today so if it is the same we should be OK so it’s purely precautionary,” said Needham.

“The daytime temperatures are set to rise to 6C but we’ll have a look at 8am and that will tell us. It’s just a caution.”
