Green light for Wolverhampton

This evening’s meeting at Wolverhampton will go ahead after passing a second inspection at 10am.

The course was hit by over two inches of snow overnight which forced officials to announce an 8am inspection.

That proved inconclusive as there were still lumps of snow in the track so another check was called for 10am, after which the green light was given.

“We’ve given it the go ahead,” said clerk of the course Fergus Cameron.

“The sun is out now and the temperature is rising so we’ve decided to call it now.

“There is a slight risk of snow for this afternoon but we are presently fine.”
