Ayr tomorrow 'in trouble'
Ayr’s fixture tomorrow is in serious jeopardy.
Officials at the Scottish track have announced a midday inspection this afternoon to determine the prospects of racing.
Overnight temperatures dipped to around minus 5C, with another heavy forecast frost heading into Friday morning.
Clerk of the course Hazel Peplinski reported: “Friday’s in trouble unless we get a big change in temperatures.
“The prospects are bleak.”
Ayr are also due to stage a meeting on Saturday.
Peplinski added: “If Friday night does not drop below freezing, and we get daytime temperatures of 7C, then we’ve got a chance.
“The trouble is, at the moment anyway, temperatures during the day are just not picking up.”
