Hereford announces inspection

Hereford’s meeting on Sunday is subject to an 8am inspection on raceday morning.

With forecast snow and possible overnight temperatures of minus 2C, clerk of the course Katie Stephens is taking no chances.

She said: “I’m optimistic as far as the track goes, but the concern I’ve got is we had a snow flurry which wasn’t forecast.

“That hasn’t melted yet, which could affect public areas, and another flurry of snow is also forecast overnight.

“The track is raceable underneath the covers, but we’ve got other headaches with the snow at the moment.”
