Tomorrow’s high-profile meeting at Haydock looks set to go ahead with clerk of the course Kirkland Tellwright not expecting any more rain overnight.

Conditions in Merseyside are bound to be testing but officials are delighted that the likes of Champion Hurdle hero Punjabi, Grand National winner Mon Mome and the exciting Diamond Harry will be able to strut their stuff on the track.

Tellwright said: “We’ve had no rain since this morning and we are not anticipating any more.

“It’s going to be testing and it’s typical Haydock, January ground, but I’ve known it more testing.

“We’re looking forward to what should be a great day.”
