Newbury abandoned

Today’s meeting at Newbury has been abandoned due to snow.

Clerk of the course Richard Osgood was forced to call an impromptu 9am inspection after rain turned to heavy snow this morning.

He said: “We have abandoned as there is snow on the course.

“It’s getting worse and the snow is balling on the course and it’s dangerous.

“The forecast is no better so we have called off the meeting.”
