Kempton good to go after track inspection
Saturday’s jumps meeting at Kempton goes ahead after the track passed a 7.30am inspection.
There has been no jumps racing on turf since Plumpton on January 3 due to the cold snap, but the Sunbury venue will get the show back on the road after a massive improvement in conditions at the track.
Clerk of the course Barney Clifford said: “There’s still some snow on the track but about 85% of it is clear with just the 15% around the lake which will disappear today.
“We are forecast 6C today and 2C overnight with a balmy 8C to look forward to tomorrow! There is some rain pushing in tomorrow but I wouldn’t mind seeing some rain to just take the deadness out of the ground.”
