Green light for Kempton

This afternoon’s meeting at Kempton goes ahead as scheduled after the threat of overnight snow failed to materialise.

The track has been perfectly raceable throughout the cold spell but outlying areas were the problem.

However, clerk of the course Barney Clifford was pleased to give the meeting the green light.

“The good news is we only got 1cm overnight so we brought forward our 7.30am inspection,” said Clifford.

“The forecast was pretty volatile and it is obviously pretty regional as Epsom, which is just down the road, got nearly 10cm.”

There is a further inspection at 10am for Kempton’s National Hunt meeting scheduled for Saturday.
