Kempton’s Flat meeting tomorrow evening is subject to an 8am precautionary inspection due to the threat of heavy snow.

The all-weather track is perfectly raceable at present but a lot more snow is on the way, leaving officials in a difficult situation.

“We’ve called an 8am precautionary inspection because of the forecast,” said clerk of the course Barney Clifford.

“We are perfectly raceable now but heavy snow is on the way.

“It’s a question of if we can shift the snow off the track and then it needs to be safe in and around the course as well.

“We have managed to shift snow with four or five days’ notice, but shifting it in four or five hours could be a challenge.”
