This afternoon’s all-weather fixture at Kempton goes ahead as scheduled after course officials brought forward a scheduled 8am inspection.

Up to 10 centimetres of snow was forecast to hit the track on Saturday night but clerk of the course Barney Clifford is pleased to report that the majority of that stayed away.

“We had a look at 5.30am this morning and were able to give it the go-ahead,” said Clifford.

“We had to call an inspection due to the advanced weather warning but we only had a very light dusting of snow and are absolutely fine to race, thankfully.”
