Roche hit hard by Navan stewards
Connections of Take A Stroll have been hit hard over the running and riding of the four-year-old at Navan.
The local stewards handed out a 60-day ban to the horse, trainer Christy Roche was fined €2,000 and his amateur rider son Padraig has been suspended for 10 days.
The punishments came after the Santa Claus Maiden Hurdle when the officials found the racecourse had been used as a training ground and that insufficient effort had been made on the part of the rider.
Take A Stroll, owned by J P McManus, was sent off a 25-1 chance and finished 11th behind the Noel Meade-trained Hollo Ladies.
